Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
Arrival / Pinnawala / Dambulla

Meet & assist at the airport by your local representative and transfer to Dambulla

We will make our first stop of the day at Pinnawala Elephant orphanage,

Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage.- Where an orphanage was started in 1975 to house the abandoned and the wounded elephants The number of elephants has increased to more than 100 now, including baby elephants brought from various parts, as well as the babies born, as a result of the captive breeding programme The best time to visit is the feeding time from 0930-1000 hrs and the bathing time from 1000-1030 hrs when all the elephants are taken to the river Close by.

After the visit to the orphanage continue your journey to Dambulla.

After Breakfast proceed to Sigiriya and Climb the Sigiriya Rock.

Sigiriya- Sigiriya is a massive rock which was transformed into a citadel during the reign of King Kasyapa, according to history. The capital and the royal palace were abandoned after the king's death. It was used as a Buddhist monastery until the 14th century. The rock fortress is famous for its frescoes and the mirror wall. Sigiriya today is a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site. It is one of the best preserved examples of ancient urban planning. It is the most visited historic site in Sri Lanka.

Minneriya National Park- Minneriya National Park is a national park in North Central Province of Sri Lanka. Being part of the elephant corridor which joins up with Kaudulla and Wasgomuwa parks, Minneriya National Parkgives the opportunity to see herds of Elephants throughout the year.May to October is the best period to visitMinneriya National Park in view of the famous Gathering of the wild elephants. It is the largest known meeting place of Asian Elephants in the world. During this period herds up to 300 elephants are seen at the 8,890 hectare park within a few square kilometers of the Minneriya Reservoir. In August and September each year during the dry season, wild elephants from the surrounding wilderness in search of food and water, makes their way to the shores of the Minneriya Reservoir adjoining the Minneriya National Park. Huge herd of elephants, sometimes numbering up to 300, converge together within a few square kilometers of the lake.

After breakfast leave to Kandy, En-route in Matale, you will have the opportunity to visit to a Spice Garden, where you can have an insight to the spice production in Sri Lanka.

Spice & Herbal Garden- At the spice garden, where smells of cinnamons, pepper, cardamom, nutmeg and mace overwhelm the senses and the visitors are provided an insight into an age old industry of spice production, which attracted many a European and Asian merchants to the ports of ancient Sri Lanka. A short oil and shoulder massage is provided to the group using herbal oils of the garden.

After visiting spice garden, continue our journey to Kandy.

After breakfast city tour around Kandy. Kandy - Kandy is Sri Lanka's hill capital, stronghold of the Sinhala Kings, is our most beautiful town. It is 488 meters above sea level. The focal point of the town is, without doubt, the golden roofed DaladaMaligawa where the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha is enshrined.

Evening you will visit the Cultural show.

Experiencing new cultures and traditions is one of the reasons why people travel, and this show is the personification of this noble pursuit. The Kandy Cultural Centre hosts this extravaganza, with the various components of Sri Lanka’s rich and diverse cultural history all on display. Art forms throughout the country take center stage, with fire and demon dancers stealing the show and your breath. Traditional drummers and Kandy dancers complete the mesmerizing hour-long show; a treat for locals and tourists alike.

Tea Factory and Tea plantation visit - Sri Lanka is one of the world's largest exporters of tea. Since the introduction of tea to Sri Lanka in mid 19 the century Nuwara Eliya has been the capital of the tea industry. For many miles prior to reaching Nuwara Eliya from either direction you will find acres and acres of tea plantations, infact nothing but tea estates. There are many factories open for visitors which also have tea sales outlets.

Do a city tour in Nuwara Eliya, also you can have small walk around the Gregory Lake.

Nuwara Eliya lies in Hill country, and is supposed to be one of the coldest places in Sri Lanka but it is really just like an English spring day, although the temperature does drop at night. Furthermore, the architecture styles and tea plantations which are of British influence gave Nuwara Eliya the name “The Little England”.
